Kids Love Spanish Review and Giveaway!

After much debate...with myself...I have picked Spanish as the foreign language we will learn.  I feel like it will be the most useful to my grits overall.

So, I can't tell you how honored and excited  I am to be doing a review and giveaway for Kids Love Spanish!

This is an award winning collection of DVD's that teaches children basic Spanish vocabulary. It is for ages 2-8 and up.  Even Baby Grit (who is almost 2) was repeating the alphabet today!
Here the Grits are learning on a Saturday morning....in their PJ's!  How easy is that!?!

I love  these videos!  The creators, Julie and Krisse, and Julie's son and his friends are the stars of the show!  Each Spanish word is pronounced while you are shown the Spanish and English spelling.  Then, Julie, Krisse and the children take turns repeating the pronunciation.  Sometimes you are watching them say the word. Sometimes you are looking at the object and it's spelling while they are saying  the word. And sometimes you are watching someone say the word while they interact with the object.  For example, a child says "leche" while holding a glass of milk and then takes a sip.

What makes Kids Love Spanish DVD's  great!
  • Bright images
  • Fun music
  • Great visual examples
  • Slow, clear pronunciation! (We have a Spanish program that says the words so fast, it's hard to catch them)
  • Repetition, repetition, repetition!
  • Printable review pages off their website!

The 7 volume set includes:
#1 Basic Words
#2 Alphabet and Numbers
#3 Family
#4 Food
#5 Colors and Shapes
#6 Animals
#7 Basic Phrases

These will be a great addition to any homeschoolers video library!

Buy it: You can buy the  Kids Love Spanish 7 DVD Box Set  at wwwkidslovespanish.com  for $99.99.    They also sell  half box sets or individual volumes.   So, you should definitely be able to find what you are looking for!

I am a follower and although maybe not as practical to know, I think our kids would like Volume 6 about animals the best.

One benefit I really like and one that is a great reminder to teach our kids foreign languages is that "Languages are for life ~ once you learn them they can't be taken away."

The testimonial of Natasha Oliver, RN, FNP is a great one because it shows that even the healthcare community is behind this product.

Hi Joyce... Wonderful giveaway here. We are starting spanish this year too. I believe my son would think the animals, volume 6 was the most fun.
I have looked over these products and they look like a great set. Thank you for the information.

Extra entry:
Children have the capacity to develop new language more naturally than adults. Between the ages of 0 and 10 years old, children’s brains are geared towards language development.

I liked the testimonial by Jody Manby... To see that an educator suggests this material carries alot of weight. I also agree with her statement "Finally, with this series I've found exactly what I've been looking for!" I have been looking for something like this myself and so glad to see it now.

I think my children would like basic words the best. That was as far as we got with baby sign language and they still remember those.

I love that benefit that kids learn languages at an early age and that it helps them problem solve and with reasoning.

The volume that would be great for our family is the phrase one. We needed more Spanish when we went Ecuador. However, living in Orlando....it is just as helpful.

A Benefit:
more naturally than adults. Between the ages of 0 and 10 years old, children’s brains are geared towards language development. The power to learn language is so great in the young child that it doesn’t seem to matter how many languages you throw their way. They can learn as many spoken languages as you allow them to hear systematically and regularly.

This is so true!! I have a hard time learning new language, but the kids really need to in our ministry.
